This past year, Bethany Farm and Nursery was immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to and support thriving initiatives in our community. From hosting memorable events to making impactful contributions, our commitment to making a positive difference has been at the forefront of everything that we do.
Fundraiser with Seymour High School
We supplied poinsettias to Seymour High School for them to sell at their fundraiser. We were happy to support their efforts in raising money to assist in their school programs.
Amity High School Garden Partnership
We donated plants and materials while actively planning a garden at Amity High School. This collaborative effort aimed to create an inspiring and vibrant outdoor space for students, fostering a love for nature and learning.
Fall Donations to Trinity Church
Trinity Church became a canvas for fall beauty as we contributed fall donations, including pumpkins, cornstalks, and hay bales. We crafted visually captivating displays that not only adorned the church grounds but also brought the essence of fall to the entire community.
Poinsettias Fundraiser with The Innovative CPA Group
In a joint effort with The Innovative CPA Group, an accounting firm in Shelton, we donated to TEAM Inc., a non-profit human services agency. We supplied poinsettias for The Innovative CPA Group’s holiday party and the proceeds from this fundraiser were donated to TEAM Inc.
Boy Scout Wreaths
To support the BSA Troop 1425, an all-female scout troop in Bristol, we supplied wreaths for their fundraiser. This fundraiser helped raise funds for BSA Troop 1425, enabling them to fund upcoming events such as cabin campouts, a first aid meet, and spring camporee!
First Church of Christ Rose Replanting
When roses at the First Church of Christ wilted, we took immediate action. We replanted vibrant and resilient roses, embodying our commitment to customer satisfaction and ensuring the happiness of community members.
Waterbury High School Pumpkin Donation
We donated pumpkins to Waterbury High School for children with special needs. This gesture aimed to spread joy and inclusivity, ensuring that every child could partake in the fall festivities.
Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE)
We offer Supervised Agriculture Experience hours to students at Nonnewaug. This invites students in the agriculture program to work at our farm for a certain number of hours, allowing them to gain real life experience and skills. This enables them to pursue their passions through hands-on learning in the agricultural industry.
Unpaid Experiential Learning Program (UELP)
We invite Amity High School seniors to gain agricultural experience at our farm through the Unpaid Experiential Learning Program. We provide these students with a mentor to ensure that they continue to learn knowledge and skills outside of the classroom while allowing them a hands-on experience.
gardenUP Design Day
On August 5, we hosted gardenUP Design Day, where people came to design their own garden using gardenUP’s platform. We had live music, a food truck, a raffle, and a sale. If you missed this event, you can still design your own garden with this link: https://bethanyfarmandnursery.gardenup.com/.
Customer Appreciation Week
From August 28 to September 3, we held Customer Appreciation Week. We offered 40% off all plant material as a way of saying thank you to all of our customers.
Pictures with Santa
Santa visited our farm on December 9 to meet and take pictures with kids. We sold holiday products such as poinsettias, Christmas trees, and wreaths along with crafts made by local community members that we sold in our barn store.
Thank you to everyone who supported us this past year. We hope to see you this Spring season at Bethany Farm and Nursery!
